Setting up a private session is a great way to learn at your own pace where we are able to fully focus on specific alignment, foundations and wellness while deepening the overall understanding of yoga as a daily practice.

The one-on-one private sessions can be focused on any or all of the following realms of yoga depending on your intention and goals:

  • asana (physical postures)
  • meditative practices
  • pranayama (breath practice)
  • theory, philosophy
  • seasonal sadhana
  • sacred self care
  • creating a unique home practice
  • Wild, Natural & Free program

Please contact Danielle for more information on private sessions.

What is Yoga

Yoga.  It is a practice of building strength and connection, where we can meet our body, our thoughts, our relationships and the world with a little more flexibility, freedom and grace.

Yoga.  It is a practice to come home to the Self.  This home-coming, strips away the layers of illusion, masks we have once worn, attachments we thought we could not live without, to uncover truth and joy. That feeling that we get every now and then, of complete contentment, bliss, stoke, awe, unity.

Yoga. Is recognizing your own awesome-ness and the awesome-ness of all beings!

pdiddy-279What to Expect

Your yoga experience with Feathers and Fur will be first and foremost in a safe and supportive environment.  We will work from the ground up, starting with the basic foundations of alignment and breath.

Special attention is always given to the uniqueness if each individual.  Every student will be met where they are, and where you are is PERFECT!

A general practice will last 60 – 90 minutes which can include an opening invocation/chant, contemplative sit/meditation, pranayama (breath practices), a sequence of physical asana (postures), a lengthy cool-down ending in deep relaxation (savasana).

(*Please discuss any injuries, health issues and general concerns with Danielle via email or before practice).

IMG_7096Danielle’s expertise lies in her feathering grace on the yoga mat with a combined ten years of study and over four years of teaching.  Any nook or cranny at which to sit or practice seamlessly becomes her sanctuary.

Danielle practices and teaches to bring more depth and connection to the every day.  Whether it be honouring the lunar cycle, paying homage to a challenging surf, preparing for the cold of winter or celebrating community…she meets each student where they are.

In turn, challenging and inspiring students to stretch wholeheartedly into the ever-expanding art and science of yoga and the universal rhythms.

Why I Practice & Teach Yoga

As a student I often go back and forth between embracing the feathery graceful aspects of a yoga lifestyle and the many practices that bring be back to a place of clarity, of love and of grace.  Yet, at other times, it is the Wild, Natural and Free aspects of the traditions that keep me coming back for more, keeping that fire forever stoked.

Over the past few years, it has become abundantly apparent that our connection to the earth has faltered somewhat.  That we are a few too many degrees separated from the the natural rhythms.  It is easily forgotten that these rhythms are also our own; we are not separate from where we live, what we eat, how we react in the world.  When these rhythms are ignored we find dis-ease in our bodies, in our relationships and within our inner world.

With playfulness and sincerity being my role models, I offer series of classes, workshops and retreats that address season with story.  Ancient narratives with present day phenomena.  I also rely heavily on the wisdom and inspiration of the Wild and the Natural…exploring the elements and our connection to place.
