HOMECOMING: A Biodynamic Breathwork & Yoga Retreat
MAY 13-16, 2022
The Sentinel, Kaslo B.C.

This intentional retreat will support participants to come home to themselves using conscious breath & trauma release techniques.  These practices will be complemented with yoga, somatic movement, dance, meditation and Ayurvedic wisdoms to support the potential for transformation and the release of what is no longer serving us.

These past 2 years have posed such immense pressures upon our nervous systems, divided communities and families, and identities have been challenged in a big way.  It is time to re-connect, to your own breath, to your body, to the much-needed medicine of community and mother nature.

We could not think of a more wonderful space than the sacred temple at The Sentinel and the magic waters of Kootenay Lake.  Gift yourself this intentional time, where you will be held, nourished, and deeply supported to receive all that you need!

Included:-Opening and closing circles-3 Breathwork Ceremonies (BBTRS)-Somatic exercise/dance & movement sessions-Ayurvedic Seasonal Wisdoms-Daily Yoga Practices; asana, pranayama, meditation-Yoga Nidra-Restorative practices-A full moon fire evening (if permitted)-Nourishing meals
-Cedar hot tub and sauna-Beautiful Kootenay Lake accessBiodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release (BBTRS) is a system of conscious breathwork that aids the breather to gain access to an embodied state.  This transformative work offers the potential to discover resources found in the body and in nature. Tuning into the sensational body in this way, creates an opportunity for old patterns of tension to be released through movement, expression, sound, and emotion.  Ultimately guiding the participant to a space of meditative presence.   We will use somatic practices, dance, yoga and play to support the unwinding and unraveling of the belts of tension (William Reich).  We will explore the energetic chakras that correlate with belts of tension and integrate themed  Ayurvedic Yoga practices.  It is time to release what no longer serves you and open to expansive possibilities.  We warmly welcome you to his indulgent and nourishing weekend of exploration and homecoming.

Danielle Hachey

Danielle is forever grateful to this practice of yoga, and to the many teachers who have guided her on this journey for the past 15 years.  Danielle came to yoga to help heal and realign her body and to feel more connected to the unexplainable and the timeless. She practices and teaches yoga to bring a quality of depth and ritual to every day. Whether it be honouring the lunar cycle, paying homage to the surf, or preparing for the change of the season… she meets each day and each student, as is.

With playfulness and sincerity, Danielle offers a series of classes, workshops and retreats that address season with story, therapeutics and alignment, and infuses the ancient wisdoms of Yoga and Ayurveda into practice.  With deep respect to the ancient lineages and traditions, she invites you to come explore on your mat!

Clare Kearney

Clare is incredibly passionate about the potency of the breath. A tool she says, that everyone has access to, something that in her experience has the power to change, to transform, to energise, to release, and is an incredible gift of being alive.  She is humbled to be able to share the magic of conscious connected breathwork with others, and to serve as the supportive role of facilitator to breathwork groups and individuals.

A Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System Practitioner, Clare’s EmbodyBreath offerings are influenced a great deal by her beloved years of working and learning with the founder of BBTRS (Giten Tonkov), supporting large certification trainings internationally and mentoring online trainees also.

Being a Registered Massage Therapist, cranial sacral therapist, Yoga Nidra facilitator and student of Osteopathy, her fascination with the human form, how the body holds on to tension and releases trauma is an ongoing thread of study in her life.  Clare delights in dance and play and the beauty of human connection – she is so excited to co-host this potent retreat at the Sentinel!
